I'll Help You Find Your Superpower!

Day # 3: Superpower Day. If you had a superpower – what would it be? How would you use it?

I've never been into super heros, so before I continue with this post I have to confess I looked up some superpowers to give me ideas. However, when I wrote this post it made me think of my super hero shirt that my friends made me for my 20th birthday. They did it as a joke, but it  is honestly one of my favorite birthday gifts. Since I am a morning person, and get a lot accomplished before they even wake up on the weekends the back says "saving the world before 6AM"

So onto my super power. After searching through super powers, one stuck out to me. The sensing power. This power allows individuals to sense the super powers in others. If I had this power, I would use it to benefit other individuals.

One thing that people say to me when I tell them I am GF is "they could never do it." I even know a few people that think celiac or gluten-sensitivity might be effecting them, but refuse to go through the testing, because they don't think they could give up their favorite foods.

Going GF is hard, its a major transition, but it can be done. As an individual who suffered for 5 years before getting a diagnosis, I know how hard it can be. However, going through this experience changed my life. For years, people have been telling me that I have an unbelievable amount of strength. Despite people telling me over and over, I did not always believe this. It took me a long time to recognize my strength. However, with the help of others, I am able to use my strength to get me through each new obstacle that I face. My "strength" is my superpower.

If I had the sensing power, I would help people who have just been diagnosed with any sort of chronic illness recognize their "super hero powers". What is it that they have that will help them get through this transition? We all have some "super hero powers" that helps us get through difficult times. However, sometimes we need a little help from others to find them.
